favorites.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens; bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens; brown paper packages tied up with strings; these are a few of my favorite things...

Oh right, I'm not in Sound of Music.  Sometimes I forget -- love that movie.  Anyways, I know I'm nothing super, extraordinarily special like Oprah but it's always fun to know what other people enjoy.  Maybe you'll learn something useful.

Bible verse(s):

Christ is faithful as a son over God’s house. And we are his house, if we hold on to our courage and the hope of which we boast. --Hebrews 3:6

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on hi law he meditates day and night.  He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.  Whatever he does prospers.  -- Psalm 1:2-3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.  --Philippians 2:3

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. -Romans 8:28

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  --Romans 12:12

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and creatures of the sea are being tamed and have been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue.  It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.  With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and whit it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness.  Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing.  My brothers, this should not be.  Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?  My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?  Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.  --James 3:7-12

about me.

Born and raised in a small town, I am now a 20 something [adult!] trying to find my way in this world.  Through all the trials and tribulations of life, it is my goal to maintain a positive outlook on everything.  I'm sure I will stumble and fall several times, but with scratches on my knees and a bandage on my heart, I better stand up smiling. ;)

I am currently in college pursuing a degree in special education.  I love being in the classroom, the students, and the great friends I've made through my time in college. When I'm not writing lesson plans, reflections, and educational philosophy papers, I enjoy spending time with friends, reading books and blogs, and listening to great music.

Due to some emails I have received, I find it necessary to clarify: I am a Christian.  Along with that statement comes another fact: I am a sinner.  My motto is: hate the sin, love the sinner.  My mother also says, "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."  As a visitor to this blog, I ask that you please adhere to this as well.  I am all for friendly debates and disagreements but I reserve the right to remove any ill-intended, inappropriate comments.

Now that all that business is out of the way, I'm glad you're here.  Sit down and stay awhile (or find your way to the top right corner of your screen -- whichever you'd prefer)!
